Bob Hendricks is a visual artist living in North County San Diego. Born and raised in Chula Vista he pursued his education in the area then travelled throughout the U.S. in the mid 70's. During the highs and lows of his adventures Bob developed a deeper sense of the human and the spiritual. This may be the catalyst for the figurative and otherwoldly direction of his original art.
Upon returning home he slowly continued his education, ending in a BA Degree from San Diego State University in Studio Art in 1994. Since then Bob has continued to create and show his work in the San Diego area. Primarily a painter the artist will occasionally branch off into sculpture. Mostly painting nowadays in acrylic, pastels and oil pastels, he has always explored mixed media in his artwork.
Believing in giving back to the world, Bob has taught art to children at the San Diego Museum of Art, a now defunct continuation school in Southeast San Diego, an afternoon program for children in the same area and to adults at a few mental health facilities in town.
Shown first are some of Bob,s original visionary paintings.
Then a few examples of his animal and human portraits, caricatures, murals, holiday windows, logos and car detailing.
